About the role:

This is a critical role and an excellent opportunity in the growing healthcare sector that's driven by it's purpose to enrich and celebrate life together. Primarily this role is responsible embedding and growing our sustainability strategy by collaborating closely with our cross functional teams to develop and implement sustainability initiatives and programs.

Some of what you'll be doing:

  • Development, delivery and execution of Estia Health's sustainability strategy; as well as overseeing the implementation of the strategy through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead Sustainability Committees and Working Groups with required subject matter experts to plan and execute projects and initiatives to achieve sustainability targets and goals.
  • To be the expert and lead on sustainability issues providing guidance to all levels of the organisation from Board and Executive to subject matter experts and operational teams.
  • Embed sustainability within the organisation, integrating sustainability targets into the broader organisation strategy, establishing sustainability scorecards and sustainability KPIs within renumeration.
  • Increase our workforce's understanding of our sustainability strategy and engagement in taking action to help achieve our targets and deliver successful projects.

The background that will make you a success in this role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Geography Sustainability, related discipline or significant years of relevant experience.
  • Experienced in sustainability roles including Sustainability leadership roles.
  • Sustainability passion and subject matter expertise (including climate, waste, sustainable sourcing, community and social strategy).
  • Project management and high level of communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Knowledge of sustainability performance measures, global practices and emerging issues.
  • Experience in health care/aged care sector an advantage.
