Sitting in Business Services, our Finance team deliver financial results for businesses, drive improved financial performance into the future, and provide key support to our industry teams. Our diverse and multidisciplinary team bring together skills in financial reporting, budget processes, and stakeholder management to review, recommend, and drive process changes for our clients.

Your Opportunity

The Manager Financial Accountant will be an integral part of the financial accounting and reporting function of KPMG, taking responsibility of the general ledger and delivering exceptional financial reporting services to the business. The role drives compliance with Australian Financial Reporting Standards via accounting policy. This will extend to the review of current accounting policies and accounting practices, the identification of a need for, the development and communication of, revisions to or new accounting policies and ensuring compliance with these accounting policies. This role is a 15 month parental leave cover.

How are you extraordinary?

Working as a part of our Finance team, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with external auditors and ensuring the reporting entities have their lodgement requirements completed
  • Preparing board papers for discussion at meetings
  • Preparing allocated annual statutory accounts
  • Undertaking technical research where required for any change in accounting standards
  • Reconciliation and analysis of allocated general ledger accounts
  • Preparing/posting journals as required, including standing and inbox journals
  • Managing period end tasks such as issue of timetable and ensuring compliance with the reporting timelines
  • Assisting with the preparation other external reporting disclosures such as ABS surveys and covenant reporting

  • Demonstrated Financial accounting experience with strong technical skills relating to accounting standards
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to identify, make and initiate recommendations, seeing such recommendations through to implementation
  • Strong influencing, decision-making and communication skills.
  • Business related Degree with CA or CPA qualification completed
  • Previous experience in external audit would be highly regarded
