Our Finance team in Business Services is dedicated to delivering financial results for businesses, enhancing financial performance, and offering crucial support to our industry teams. With a blend of expertise in financial reporting, budget processes, and stakeholder management, our diverse team evaluates, suggests, and implements process improvements for our clients.

Exciting Opportunity

The Manager Financial Accountant position plays a vital role in the financial accounting and reporting department at KPMG. The role involves overseeing the general ledger and providing top-notch financial reporting services. Ensuring compliance with Australian Financial Reporting Standards through accounting policy management is key. Responsibilities include reviewing current accounting policies and practices, identifying the need for, developing, and communicating revisions or new policies, as well as ensuring adherence to these policies. This role is a 15-month cover for parental leave.

What Makes You Stand Out?

You will be a key member of our Finance team, responsible for:

  • Collaborating with external auditors to ensure completion of reporting entities' lodgement requirements
  • Compiling board papers for meeting discussions
  • Preparing assigned annual statutory accounts
  • Conducting technical research when necessary for accounting standards changes
  • Reconciling and analyzing assigned general ledger accounts
  • Posting required journals, including standing and inbox journals
  • Overseeing period end tasks such as distributing timetables and ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines
  • Assisting in preparing other external reporting disclosures like ABS surveys and covenant reporting

  • Demonstrated expertise in Financial accounting with strong technical skills in accounting standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven capability to identify, recommend, and drive recommendations to implementation
  • Strong influencing, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Business-related Degree with completed CA or CPA qualification
  • Previous experience in external audit would be advantageous
