Dental Officer Level 2, Permanent Full Time.


We are seeking a suitably experienced Dental Officer Level 2 to join our large Oral Health team on the Central Coast of NSW.


If you are an enthusiastic and motivated dentist with a high level of knowledge, experience and clinical competency, this is an opportunity for you.

This is a clinical position with a full clinical load. There is no managerial or academic time allowance.


Applicants for the Level 2 positions must have a minimum of two years (full time equivalent) clinical experience as a dentist in Australia or in a mutually recognized jurisdiction (UK, NZ and Éire).

Applicants must demonstrate a proven record of exercising independent professional judgment on routine matters of general dentistry.

They must also have a proven record of providing clinical supervision and support to junior dental clinicians, support staff, undergraduate students, and demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.


The position qualifies for the Dental Officer Rural Incentive Scheme Allowance (up to $20k p.a.) on top of Award Salary.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable Labour market testing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
  • Registered and / or able to be registered with the Dental Board of Australia as a dentist.
  • A minimum of two years (full time equivalent) clinical experience as a dentist in Australia or in a mutually recognised jurisdiction (UK, NZ and Éire) encompassing all areas of general dentistry and having successfully completed the standard Dental Officers Skills Assessment set by the NSW Centre for Oral Health Strategy; or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrated high levels of knowledge and clinical expertise across all areas of general dentistry.
  • Proven record of exercising independent professional judgement on routine matters of general dentistry.
  • Demonstrated ability for identifying opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, developing and leading ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
  • Proven record of providing clinical supervision and support to junior dental clinicians, support staff, undergraduate students, and demonstrate the ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Current Class C driver licence.
