My client is an ASX listed property business that manage and operate a number of retail, office and industrial properties throughout Australia and currently have over $80 billion dollars of funds under management. The role

Reporting to the Retail Property Financial Controller you will manage a team of 6 with the end to end responsibility for a large and complex portfolio of retail assets across Australia. The role will operate in a leading/mentoring role whilst providing high level strategic guidance to cross functional stakeholders

Responsibilities of the team will include -

  • Responsibility for integrity and delivery of accounting results for a portfolio of retail properties
  • Coordination in budget and forecast process and related reporting
  • Preparation of variance analysis commentary for monthly and quarterly management reporting
  • Identify improvements in month end reporting process and assist in streamlining the process
  • Property disposal and acquisition – settlement statement preparation, settlement adjustment and post settlement financial management;
  • Partnering with Regional and Centre Managers on a daily basis to drive financial performance

As the Senior Finance Manager you will lead and develop a team of 6 qualified accountants at varying levels whilst pursuing opportunities for improvement across the function. You will be given ownership of financial and management reporting for the asset class and manage the associated relationships with cross functional stakeholders.

About you

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Property experience highly desirable but not necessary
  • Team management experience a must
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Chartered accounting background favoured but not necessary
