The role
As the

SHE Manager NSW you will report directly into a well-regarded and highly thought of CEO. You will lead the HSEQ function for the business unit, managing the full activities, strategies and initiatives. This is a hands-on role with two direct reports and will require you to be visible throughout the geographical region.


This role will see you do a full evaluation of all the processes within this region across multiple government and private contracts.

There will be continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices based on the needs of all stakeholders, you will leverage off new technology and operating models to improve quality outcomes and consistency in service delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Model positive safety behaviours throughout all your interactions
  • Embed and enhance HSEQ systems to support delivery of objectives in line with accreditation and legislative requirements
  • Champion the Risk Management Framework and coordinate management of risks
  • Demonstrate WHS due diligence and leadership by understanding the nature of the company's operations and the hazards and risks associated with those operations
  • Monitor compliance with HSEQ policies and regulations
  • Monitor and review with accident investigations and corrective actions
  • Liaise with the Injury Management team and assist with developing and supporting the implementation of Injury Prevention initiatives to minimise risks and reoccurrence.
  • Monitor and oversee audits and investigations and reviewing the safety culture across NSW
  • Coordinate reporting on HSEQ performance and compliance internally and externally.
  • Maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Lead, support and mentor two HSEQ advisors
  • Contribute to and support national HSEQ projects and initiatives

Skills/Background:

  • Relevant tertiary / professional qualifications in Health and Safety, Risk Management, Learning and Development, or a related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge within highrisk industries such as transport, logistics, operational environments
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with particular emphasis on negotiation, influencing, conflict resolution
  • Experience working within a selfinsured environment would be advantageous
