Our Client currently looking for an Functions Officers on a temporary basis working a minimum of seventy six (76) hours a fortnight.

The tenure will be for approximately until 30th June 2023 and the Client is looking for an immediate start.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

***Coordinate the corporate, civic and ceremonial functions including continuously reviewing outcomes and consulting with key stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate the delivery of various civic and corporate functions including but not limited to Citizenship Ceremonies, Mayoral Dinner, Civic Dinner, stakeholder events and volunteers' functions, liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders as required
  • In consultation with the Manager PR & Stakeholder Engagement, develop, implement and monitor processes and procedures for the effective management of the corporate and civic functions
  • Supervise the activities of the Client's catering contractors including compliance with contract conditions and provide input to the tendering process as required.
  • Supervise the day to day activities of the Food and Beverage Staff including setting rosters and reviewing casual staffing needs, to meet requirements
  • Receive enquiries, complaints, RSVPs and correspondence, taking appropriate action in line with established policies and practices and with the aim of maintaining a strong customer focused service
  • Actively contribute as a member of the PR & Stakeholder Engagement team including providing backup and support when required
  • Undertake other duties within the scope and level of this position, as directed by the Manager PR & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Possession of, or progress towards, a relevant qualification in Hospitality, Event Management, Administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous relevant experience within the events, hospitality and functions field with responsibility for coordinating small to large events and functions
  • Previous exposure to developing, implementing, and reviewing relevant workplace processes and procedures.
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire, a satisfactory Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last twelve months).
  • Possession of, or the ability to acquire a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate
