About the role


As the Relief Operator, you will be responsible for providing self-managed Cleansing services that ensures Parramatta's Public domain is maintained and improved to enhance the appearance of the city and to promote Parramatta as Australia's next great city.

You will undertake inspections to the public domain, make decisions & implement work practices in line with the waste and cleansing insustry.

This will be a 38-hour week shift (Monday - Friday) between 3AM and 11:30AM.

You will be starting and finishing at Council's Rydalmere Operations Depot or Council's Wentworth Street Compound Parramatta as required.

This position will report to the Supervisor Specialist Plant.

About You


As a team-focused leader, you will have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or other emergencies to meet community needs.


You will bring previous experience operating Mechanical Street Sweepers, Garbage Rear loading Compactors and operating a high-pressure cleaning unit pressure cleaning pavement within Parramatta LGA.


Experience:

  • Relevant extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team successfully
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible team comprising staff of diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and the provision of a high quality and costeffective cleansing service
  • Experience maintaining safe practices including for premises and personnel through identifying, managing risks and hazards promptly.
  • Good understanding of plant service and maintenance requirements
  • Experience in operating specialist plant such as mechanical street sweepers, Garbage compactors and Pressure cleaning units

Qualifications (Level)

  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (minimum MR level)
  • Current traffic controller (Blue, Yellow)
  • Construction industry certificate "white" Card.
  • Certificate IV frontline management (Desirable).

Skills

  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communications.
  • Welldeveloped ability to coordinate the work activities of a team, monitor work rosters and plan daily work routines.
  • Superior capacity to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience Driving a Manual Transmission Vehicle.

What's on offer
We are offering an attractive salary package from $59,078.00 to $65,055.77 plus 10.5% superannuation.
