The Opportunity:
Your focus will be to build the future data universe for our firm to expedite services for our clients leveraging our current technology investment and enable technology and automation opportunities for our employees whilst balancing both emerging and disruptive technology trends.
You will:
Team leadership & management
- Provide strong personal, people and team leadership, demonstrated by the ability to coach, develop and support the development of team members, including providing timely and constructive feedback to support high performance.
- Contribute to a team culture that fosters and supports knowledge sharing, innovation and excellence.
- Working with internal stakeholders to identify, source and manage the extraction of data.
- Helping visualise the way data is presented both internally and externally.
- Sharing your knowledge and 'how to' processes within the team through ongoing learning and development, including the preparation of process documentation.
- Running information and knowledge sharing sessions to demonstrate the art of the possible.
- Work closely with the Spatial Team to broaden capability and development in data science.
- Building partnerships with our business to identify efficiencies for both automation and data opportunities.
- Leveraging the recent Data Maturity Assessment Report and understanding findings to execute our Data Roadmap to uplift overall data maturity at Urbis and Cistri;
- Support the Implementation of a new Data Lakehouse.
- Undertake analysis across numerous data sources to identify trends, build hypotheses, extract and model the data to support the findings of the team.
- Understand and extend existing Data Warehouse for data manipulation.
- Assist in the development of predictive data models.
- Implement advanced technological solutions such as machine learning within the business.
About You:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Software Engineering/Computer Science or Data Science
- Proficiency with SOL and R on big data (Billions + records datasets)
- Experience with some (or all) of the following
- Amazon Web Services (specifically RedShift), Geospatial datasets, Apache Sparks, GIT, Microsoft PowerBI, Agile Development Methodologies and the Data Republic Data Science Workspace
- A background of consulting and/or research with an innovative mindset
- Strong data science background including spatial and or statistical machine learning techniques.
- Understanding of data governance and taxonomy
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and datadriven decision making.
