We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Data and Platform Architecture to lead and grow our architecture practice at AGL.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and grow a talented team of Principal and Solution Architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and innovation.
- Define and drive the enterprise capability models, technology roadmaps, and strategic plans for AGL's data platforms, cloud infrastructure, network (OT, Corporate, Telco), and DevOps tools.
- Establish and maintain architecture frameworks, blueprints, reusable patterns, and governance models, ensuring alignment with both BAU and project delivery processes, supporting waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Lead the creation of a cohesive architecture for data and enabling platforms, bringing clarity and focus even in ambiguous environments, ensuring alignment with business units across AGL while encouraging innovation and purposeful experimentation.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO, GM Architecture, and other executive leaders, translating complex technical concepts for business stakeholders and driving strategic decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation.
- Continuously review and optimise architecture practices, accelerators, and guardrails, using emerging technologies and industry trends to guide executive decision-making and ensure that AGL remains at the forefront of technological innovation.
- Proven experience in architecture management or senior enterprise architecture roles, with a deep understanding of platform engineering, data mesh, microservices, and network strategy.
- Expertise in Telco, Broadcast Media, or Utilities, with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps tools, and production platforms.
- Proven experience leading architecture teams and developing strategic roadmaps that drive technology transformation.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and ensuring alignment across the enterprise.
- A passion for innovation, with a focus on Security by Design, automation, and data governance.
