_ What is the role?_


An exciting opportunity exists for a person to join the Turf Management team as a Parks Maintenance Officer at Hume City Council.

We are seeking an initiative-taking and enthusiastic person to work as part of a team supporting staff and contractors in the mowing operations, in maintaining and improving parks and reserves.


_ Position Objectives:
_

  • Carry out programmed maintenance and improvement works in reserves, parks, and open spaces in a safe, efficient, and effective manner and in accordance with accepted work practices and procedures.
  • Work as part of a team to maintain high quality, tidy and safe Council parks, reserves, and other open space areas.
  • To represent and promote Council's image by providing effective, courteous, and timely information and service to the community and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated relevant knowledge and experience in the safe operation and maintenance of tractors, front deck mowers, wide area mowers, trucks and associated plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work individually and in a team environment to achieve team goals and objectives.
  • Experience in maintaining and further improving parks, reserves and open spaces.
  • Good communication skills in dealing with staff, contractors and stakeholders.
