The role you could play


Join us today as a passionate and dedicated Community Perishable Resources Coordinator to work within a team to collect, deliver and manage food provision to some of Sydney Inner West's most vulnerable people.

The role will work towards cultivating a safe and healthy environment where people can belong and have some of their basic needs met.

Key responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the collection of fresh produce from OzHarvest and several other fresh produce donors and ensure efficiently delivered to Sydney Inner West Salvation Army for storage in accordance to the guidelines given by Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ)
  • Maintain appropriate records as set out by FSANZ to ensure all food is safe for consumption.
  • Oversee storage, inventory and presentation of the produce;
  • Ensure efficient and effective Delivery of fresh produce (at least one run per week) to Boarding Houses within the Sydney Inner West region
  • Provide guidance and leadership to volunteers including recruitment, training and induction processes, document management and compliance requirements in line with TSA policy and procedures
  • Gather, oversee and support a team of volunteers to assist with (but not limited to) fresh produce pickups, deliveries, food sorting and food storage
This is a permanent part-time (16 hours) position based in Sydney Inner West. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 2 Award.

  • Minimum Diploma in either Community Services or Chaplaincy, or similar, is desirable
  • Experience working with marginalized people groups highly regarded.
  • Hold a current NSW Working With Children Check
  • Valid driver's license
