The Role
As a Property Coordinator, you will have a key role in overseeing Kingston City Council's property portfolio. This position presents a unique chance to be involved in a wide array of projects, ranging from commercial real estate to community-based services, in a diverse and cooperative setting.

  • Liaising with various Council departments to grasp business needs and suggest appropriate property solutions, negotiating lease terms within policy boundaries.
  • Utilizing technical expertise to address property requirements and stay informed about current property trends and challenges.
  • Collaborating with legal, surveying, and valuation experts to draft contracts, plans, and assessments.
  • Offering suggestions for seeking technical advice when needed to enhance property outcomes.
  • Managing administrative duties like preparing property and technical reports, drafting correspondence, and contributing to departmental budgets.

Qualifications and Experience:To succeed in this role, you must possess specialized knowledge in property management, including legislation such as the Local Government Act 1989 and Retail Leases Act 2003. Additionally, familiarity with property law, town planning, valuation principles, and construction techniques is essential. Management abilities such as creating professional reports and efficient time management are crucial. Interpersonal skills are vital for fostering relationships and consulting with stakeholders, as well as problem-solving and collaborating with the team. Qualifications comprise a degree or diploma in a relevant field with relevant experience, or substantial experience in property management.
