Your Opportunity
The Educational Capability and Quality Consultant is a key member of the Educational Capability and Quality team and is responsible for:

  • providing mentorship and training to Region educators to improve educational delivery best practice and capability in teaching teams, particularly in the areas of teaching practice, assessment, technology, and innovation;
- supporting TAFE Queensland SkillsTech to achieve excellence in quality teaching, learning and assessment initiatives in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements; and
- conducting compliance services with a focus on quality assurance and risk identification/mitigation.

This position reports to the Manager, Educational Capability and Quality.
This is a Permanent, Full-time opportunity.

The position will be based primarily at Acacia Ridge however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the success of the organisation through promoting and modelling SkillsTech's core values and Agreed Behaviours and the established TAFE Queensland values of Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility, Showing Initiative, and Safety First.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Region educators and educational managers to positively influence educational practices within teaching teams through the provision of mentoring and specialised advice to support best practice educational delivery, particularly in the areas of assessment including validation, moderation, recognition of prior learning (RPL) and contemporary modes of educational delivery.
  • Assist the Manager, Educational Capability and Quality with a range of operational activities, including but not limited to:
  • leading internal and external audit processes for the Region and for industry areas across TAFE Queensland;
- leading quality reviews of assessor practices;
- coordinating annual Teacher Orientation Week activities at the commencement of each academic year;
- proactively participating in educational capability-related working groups and/or parties;
- identifying, coordinating, promoting and delivering professional development opportunities to enhance Educator Capability in assessment practices, technology and innovation; and
- administering TAFE Queensland SkillsTech's records systems and related information services to ensure the Region's compliance with TAFE Queensland's statutory obligations with respect to records management.

  • Assist the Registration Coordinator with registration of new and transitioning products, and coordinate registration activities including project management plans, procedures, reporting, quality reviews, risk management and communications documents.
  • Utilise a range of relevant computer software packages such as myProfile, Records Archiving and Disposal System (RAD), Service Now (eTAS), Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures and assist to implement initiatives to inform and educate Region employees of their obligations with respect to compliance with legislative frameworks associated with vocational education and training, including but not limited to the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations; National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Act 2011; Vocational Education and Training Quality Framework; Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000, and Public Records Act 2002, TAFE Queensland Retention and Disposal Schedule (RAD) and the General Retention and Disposal Schedule
  • Provide executive support and secretariat services to Educational Capability and Quality activities including preparation of briefs, meeting papers, reports, correspondence, agenda and minutes, and the management of associated action items.
