Bidwill Public School is?a P-6?Connected Communities Strategy school located in Mt Druitt.?? High expectations of and for all are embedded in all we do.?We have approximately 450 students across three preschool classes, three MC support classes and 18 mainstream classes.

Our support class students participate in all whole school activities in a supported manner, including accessing the whole school playground.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience and expertise in leading the collaborative delivery of quality, personalised teaching and learning programs to support students with autism, intellectual disability and complex communication needs that can impact on behaviour and learning engagement.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead a support unit, effectively managing the dual role of an Assistant Principal and exemplary classroom teacher, with the proven ability to strengthen collaborative practice within a support unit team, that builds staff capabilities to ensure a cohesive, effective team to enhance student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
  • Outstanding evidence of high impact collaboration with parents and carers, learning and support teams, School Learning Support Officers, health providers and external stakeholders, and understanding the needs of families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work with the school leadership team to foster a school-wide culture and practice of inclusion and equity and drive continuous improvement as part of a dynamic leadership team.

General Selection Criteria:

  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
