About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the special education program at our school, providing support and guidance to students with disabilities, and collaborating with teachers and staff to develop and implement inclusive learning programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the special education program, including developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing support to students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement inclusive learning programs that meet the needs of all students.
  • Provide guidance and support to students with disabilities, including those with intellectual disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviors.
  • Manage technology resources and provide ongoing support for staff to utilize technology as a tool to support student access to the curriculum.
Requirements
  • Approval to teach special education and/or demonstrated successful experience teaching students with an intellectual disability, autism, and/or challenging behaviors.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage technology resources and provide ongoing support for staff.
  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice.
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.
