UGLs Manufacturing & Maintenance business are seeking a

Maintenance Coordinator to join the locomotive maintenance team. This role will be offered on a permanent full time basis and based at our Hunter Valley Maintenance Centre on Clyde Street in Hamilton North, Newcastle.

About your role


Reporting to the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for working with the production team, customers and other key stakeholders to estimate and schedule, plan work to be included in the maintenance schedule and completed on time.

This role will work closely with our purchasing, production and warehouse teams to expedite product through the relevant business area.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain future and shortterm maintenance plans
  • Create service orders for planned work
  • Determine resources facilities and materials needed for each service order
  • Maintain material demand sufficient to meet the forecasted maintenance plan.

About you

  • Locomotive maintenance experience is ideal, as well as knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Trade certificate, Diploma or further education is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) and SAP systems
  • Good knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally
  • Experienced gained in the rail, automotive, military, Defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment
