About the opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Family Violence Practitioner to join our Family Services Program.
The Family Services Program supports families who are experiencing high levels of stress and difficulties that impact on parenting, family life and children's well being.
Responding to referrals from The Orange Door, the program provides assertive outreach and home based supports.
As a Family Violence Consultant, you will engage women and children who are allocated to Uniting's Programs such as KOMAK, FPRR, Reconnect, Foster and Kinship Care.
The role will provide consultation to the Uniting Programs in SMA to build the capacity of staff in relation to responding to family violence.

You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience within the family violence and child, youth and family welfare sector
- A commitment to the familycentered approach and the family strengthening and empowerment models of practice
- An understanding of the 'Best Interests' framework and CYFA 200
- Knowledge and understanding of the MARAM Framework and the Best Interests Framework
- Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of family violence and its impact on women and children
- Proven ability work collaboratively with other services and professionals to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
- Welldeveloped risk assessment and risk management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
