We have an opportunity for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team. This is a full-time ongoing role based in our Geelong Head Office + hybrid working.

About the role


The Payroll Officer is responsible for processing and administers the payroll for GMHBA Limited team members, including employee additions, termination calculations, year-end payroll reconciliation, Single Touch Payroll (STP) and general payroll related statutory compliance.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, your day to day will include:

  • End to end Payroll preparation and processing
  • fortnightly and monthly, for 300+ FTE
  • Processing of timesheets, deductions & allowances.
  • Superannuation payments, PAYG & Payroll Tax requirements
  • Processing leave, terminations, new starters
  • General administration payroll/HR information, system admin
  • Working collaboratively with the Payroll Manager to identify improvements to processes and systems.

About you

  • Experience in a similar payroll position where you've worked with multiple and complex industrial agreements (e.g. Enterprise Agreements, Awards, Common Law).
  • Proficiency in Payroll systems
  • Preceda, Preceda Time would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills
  • Welldeveloped communication skills personable and approachable and able to deal with confidential enquiries.
  • Welldeveloped time management and organisational skills in order to meet deadlines and ability to be flexible in a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with or exposure to reviewing/improving payroll process would be an advantage
