About the role
This is a visible leadership role leading and developing a 24/7 team and driving performance outcomes.

You will be accountable for the efficient operation and maintenance of the baggage handling System at Melbourne Airport joining our Operations and Maintenance team, your duties will include:

  • Leading teams that are responsible for the operations and maintenance of Baggage Handling Systems as well as the maintenance of Passenger Boarding Bridges and associated equipment.
  • In conjunction with Shift Leaders, lead daily shift handover meetings. Allocate and assign available staff to achieve operational objectives and systems maintenance work.
  • Contribute and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage personnel and outputs for ground handling operations, checkin processes, screening processes and maintenance requirements for Passenger Boarding Bridges and associated equipment.
  • In coordination with Shift Leaders, liaise and communicate with airport staff and key stakeholders during crisis management and problemresolution situations.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis.
  • Support teams to find failure resolution and prevent fault reoccurrence.

About you

Your qualifications and experience will include:

  • Trade Certificate in Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
  • Awareness of Six Sigma Quality methodologies and Lean Management.
  • Previous leadership experience in an operations and maintenance environment, managing a technical service entity.
  • Knowledge of OH&S systems.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to provide clear, calm resolutions to your team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage the expectations of diverse stakeholders including airport management, ground staff and the public.
