About the role

The Group Compliance Leader at Origin Energy is a key position that reports to the Head of Legal and Compliance. The leader will support the business to ensure and improve compliance in the Retail business unit. The leader will promote a robust compliance culture and adapt to the changing regulatory environment.

This role needs strategic vision, effective leadership, and the skills to handle complex compliance matters while interpreting laws and regulations. The leader will also guide and support the compliance team.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead a team of compliance professionals, providing both front-end and back-end compliance advice.
  • Communicate regulatory changes and support their practical implementation.
  • Provide, and lead team to provide, timely and fit for purpose compliance advice
  • Investigate and remediate compliance incidents, ensuring timely and accurate breach reporting.
  • Drive compliance awareness and culture across the Retail business unit.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators.
  • Predict and manage resources to support compliance objectives.
  • Assist in the education and training of company personnel to minimize compliance risks.

You will have a track record of working with business leaders to deliver compliance results. With proven skills in leading and coaching teams, you'll be an effective communicator, with the capacity to easily establish and sustain solid relationships with the business and stakeholders. You will also show:

  • Demonstrated senior leadership in compliance management within the energy retail sector.
  • Passion for continuous improvement.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law or compliance management (Desirable)
