_About the role_


This role provides efficient medical record support services to the Hospital, in order to support patient care and daily operations.

Tasks include record retrieval for admitted and discharged patients, outpatients, ED, tracking of medical records, routine filing and culling.

Staff work as part of the team and are required to work with hybrid record systems, have attention to detail and good communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the availability of complete and timely medical records.
  • Audit and reassemble discharged patient records, locating prior notes as applicable and using hybrid systems.
  • Undertake a highvolume workload and be available to assist others when required.
  • Accurate and timely data entry into Patient Administration Systems.

What you bring

  • Sound administrative support experience and skillset in a health care setting.
  • Ability to work in a busy environment, process high volume workloads, and to communicate effectively.
  • Previous experience working with business records and computer systems. Able to learn new systems easily.
  • Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality requirements in a hospital/health care setting.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a missionbased organisation.
  • The Calvary Mater Newcastle is an Affiliated Health Organisation providing services to both public and private patients primarily from the Hunter New England area. Current employees of NSW Health can request to have various leave entitlement balances transferred to Calvary Mater Newcastle on commencement.
