About the role:


In this role you will have the opportunity to make a difference to team members as you assist by providing case management support and technical advice to facilitate effective claim closure outcomes across the retail business, having a real impact on team member wellbeing.

In this role you will have the opportunity to perform the following;

  • Provide expert Early Intervention & Return to Work (RTW) support to the operations team within the portfolio
  • Reducing the health, social and financial impact of work related injuries / illness on Team Members Stay at Work / Return to Work strategies
  • Consult with Team Members, Treaters and Line Managers in developing and implementing appropriate Stay at Work / Return to Work strategies
  • Reducing the direct and indirect costs of workers compensation
  • Assisting the business to meet our legislative and selfinsurance licensing injury management / return to work obligations
  • Support and coach operational leaders in early intervention and return to work strategy
  • Manage the RTW of a portfolio of complex claims within legislative, selfinsurance and business requirements
  • Provide injured Team Members, Treaters and Line Managers with accurate, timely and appropriate information that is relevant to their roles / responsibilities
  • Provide specialist support to Viva Energy Retail/ Coles Express Operations including conducting conferences with Treaters, worksite assessments, functional education and claims reviews
  • Work collaboratively with claims officers to develop and implement strategies for case resolution
  • Actively participate in case debriefs and monthly case reviews to continually extend skills across team in effective claim resolution
  • Assist with development and delivery of internal injury management resources and training material
  • Support the rollout and embedding of the Viva Retail/Coles Express Health and Wellbeing programs

About you:

  • Empathetic and focused on delivering personal and professional health advise to our valued team members you will have;
  • Experience within a workers compensation environment either within an Insurer, Self-Insurer, Employer or Rehabilitation Provider is essential
  • Significant experience assisting injured / ill persons to Stay at Work / Return to Work.
  • A Health related degree (Physiotherapy, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or related allied health science field) is highly regarded
  • Knowledge of multijurisdictional workers compensation legislation highly regarded
  • Empathy and care with welldeveloped interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • Excellent negotiation and engagement skills
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface and influence at all levels of business and with external stakeholders
  • And a valid Australian Driver's Licence
