About the Role

The role is situated within the Policy Assurance Section of the Policy Programs and Engagement Division, responsible for driving program delivery, reporting, and outcomes. The Policy Assurance Section offers policy advice on various digital health programs, such as Aged Care, Electronic Prescribing, and My Health Record system.

We are seeking a Policy Advisor to join our welcoming team, to work in a dynamic environment on exciting national digital health programs. You will collaborate closely with a Senior Policy Advisor to craft policy advice.

Each day brings a new challenge, with exposure to a wide variety of programs, contributing advice to ensure alignment with relevant legislation and policies. We are searching for a proactive individual, passionate about influencing national health policies and eager to learn.

The Division is looking to fill multiple Policy Advisor positions, considering locations beyond our main offices in Brisbane, Canberra, and Sydney.

Skills and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement or management experience
  • Ability to review and interpret legislation
  • Strong time management and prioritization strategies
  • Previous experience in providing or implementing policy advice is advantageous
Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications or work experience in legislation and/or quality assurance are highly valued. While an understanding of digital health policy is preferred, it is not mandatory.
