About the role

The Consultant, Cardiology, CALHN:

  • Contributes to the Cardiology service achieving best practice in the design and delivery of clinical services to its advanced heart failure patients including mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant.
  • Contributes to the development of the Centre for Advanced Heart Lung Disease by providing clinical and operational input and strengthening networks with key stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the establishment and development of an academic (research and training) program associated with the Centre for Advanced Heart Lung Disease.
  • Contributes to the provision of safe, best practice clinical services to patients of, and referred to, the CALHN Cardiology Unit.
  • Contributes to the strategic planning of the cardiology departments.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
  • Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and Registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority with Specialist Registration.
