About the OPPORTUNITY

We have a new opportunity for a Maintenance Coordinator/Controllerto partner with the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) program within our Battlespace Integrated Solutions business.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be employed on a permanent full time basis and will be situated at our Edinburgh, Adelaide location.


BAE Systems Australia is leading the $1.2 billion upgrade of the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN), ensuring Australia remains a world leader in maritime and air defence Over the Horizon Radar (OTHR) systems.

The state-of-the-art defence system provides wide-area surveillance at ranges of 1,000 to 3,000 kilometres and plays a vital role in supporting the Australian Defence Force's air and maritime operations, border protection, disaster relief and rescue operations.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, control and report on maintenance activities and associated equipment, ensuring the correct use of work instructions, drawings and procedures
  • Liaise with stakeholders to effectively plan and manage the maintenance, repair and modification of designated radar systems
  • Ensure the remote subcontractor maintenance activities are effectively completed and oversee the work confirmation approvals
  • Generating monthly work orders for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
  • Update maintenance data and relevant information in the Maintenance Management System and analyse maintenance reports
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and provide advice on maintenance activities
  • Seek and share good practice and knowledge to continuously improve maintenance practices
About YOU

  • Maintenance Coordinator/Controller experience or experience in a maintenance or technical environment
  • Relevant technical qualification coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings and analyse maintenance information
  • Good problem solving, fault finding and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good interpersonal skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, and good selfmanagement skills
