**The Role**
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance activities a small team of technicians on Aviation Navigation Support equipment such as Instrument Landing Systems, Voice switch systems, Tactical Air Navigation systems and AGA radio networks. The position supports the safe conduct of Air Traffic Control at RAAF Base Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

- Directing maintenance tasks,
- Identifying training requirements within the team,
- Communicating maintenance requirements to maintenance personnel,
- Ensuring maintenance activities are conducted within regulatory frameworks (DASR).

This role provides opportunities for developing skills and knowledge through participation in workshops, courses and on the job training.

Applicants deemed suitable with exceptional skills, experience or expertise may be eligible for an Individual Flexibility Arrangement (IFA) in accordance with the IFA provisions of the Defence Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020. This may include additional remuneration and/or the variation of other conditions. In these cases, total remuneration will comprise of base salary + IFA additional remuneration + superannuation.

The Maintenance Manager will be capable of appropriately delegating tasks in line with relevant regulations and policies as well as an effective communicator for stakeholder engagement. Thus, a well-developed understanding of compliance to relevant regulations, legislation and policy requirements is desirable. Other ideal traits include the ability to coordinate and contribute to completing tasks in a safe manner taking into consideration priorities, personnel development and quality.

This member should also be capable of assessing technical tasks, including scoping, planning and review, to meet specified requirements in an effective and safe manner. The ideal maintenance manager takes responsibility for managing technical tasks and maintenance teams in support of the Aviation Navigation Support equipment that enables the Australian Defence Force to meet its objectives.
