They support people from all walks of life, offering a range of specialist mental health programs and offer NDIS services that promote emotional and social wellbeing and reduce the risk of mental illness.

They are seeking a Psychologist to join their growing team in Australia.

Position Overview
The Psychologist will provide evidence-based support interventions ranging from intake assessments, care planning, psychological assessment, group sessions and therapy to assist individuals and communities achieve lifetime wellbeing.
The psychologist will work across a number of programs within the organisation, including their Multicultural Mental Health Services, Medicare and NDIS.
As a Psychologist you will work alongside the internal multidisciplinary team of experienced Allied Health and Mental Health professionals, including occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrist, counsellors, physiotherapist, and social workers. Working with a multidisciplinary team ensures the participants needs are met, and you as the therapist has a team to bounce ideas from, and to participant in case reviews and group supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive intake assessments for clients in the National Disability Insurance Scheme and other PHN funded programs.
  • Support will occur on both an individual basis and within a group setting.
  • Develop treatment plans to implement appropriate intervention strategies and treat the complex needs of clients. Interventions will be based on carefully evaluated evidence- based research and will be implemented in close consultation with a supervisor;
NDIS Therapeutic Supports
  • To offer therapeutic supports in both office and community locations that are deems safe by the employee, employer and participant
  • To support the participant in achieving their individual NDIS goals and improving their overall functional impact of their disability
  • To review individual Service Agreements to assist in tracking funds for the delivery of the services.
Other responsibilities
  • Building strong professional relationships with staff, internal and external stakeholders to promote effective services system outcomes for clients;
  • Working cooperatively with others to create a performance-based culture and set KPI's;
  • Delivering high quality learning and development activities as well as education to staff, individuals from supporting agencies, clients and their families;
  • Produce and collate statistical reports, monthly reports, progress reports and annual reports as requested;
  • Participate in individual supervision and group supervision;
  • Represent the organisation at key meetings and events as delegated or relevant to the position including nights and weekends – including interstate and international travels as required;
  • Contribute to building a whole of organisation approach to establishing an integrated service delivery model when required;
  • Attend regular meetings with HR and Finance to discuss relevant issues where required; and
  • Other tasks as requested by your Manager.
Customer Service
  • To build and maintain positive relationships with all members of staff, funding bodies and contacts within and outside the organisation.
  • Provide effective supervision and support to staff on an ongoing basis
  • Liaise with internal team members and contribute positively to the planning and delivery of the Company.
  • Capture data and evidence to support client satisfaction
Work & Time Management
  • Performance objectives are based on the key accountabilities above and are aligned to organisation and team objectives.
  • Individual performance measures and behavioral standards will be discussed and reviewed on a periodic basis in accordance with the Company policies and procedures.

  • Communicate effectively with your Manager in order to solve problems and review procedures to ensure improvements in service delivery and customer needs are identified and implemented.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and meetings and comply with Company policies and procedures to ensure knowledge and skills are adequate to fulfil your duties.
  • Comply with the organisation's Quality Management Systems policies and procedures, to ensure consistency in meeting the expectations of your role.
  • Comply with the continuous improvement process, completing quality improvement forms and ensuring the continuous improvement process is communicated, promoted and adhered to.
  • Provide training and assistance to other members of the team in procedures to ensure optimal service standards are achieved.

  • Submit payroll information in line with deadlines to ensure all entitlements can be processed within identified timeframes team in procedures to ensure optimal service standards are achieved

  • Report any work related incidents, injuries / illness, malfunction of machinery, plant or equipment to your Supervisor / Manager immediately or as soon as possible to ensure investigation occurs in a timely manner and appropriate controls are identified and implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Wear, use, maintain and care for any Personal Protective Clothing and / or Equipment provided and report any defects.
  • Participate in rehabilitation processes if injured or ill due to work.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong Knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs.
  • High level interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with people, their families and friends, and health and welfare professionals
  • Demonstrated understanding of the multicultural mental health, disability and National Disability Insurance Scheme, policy, networks and strategic direction
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing people's needs and areas of risk, identifying goals and developing action plans, and identification of emerging mental health issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in using client information management systems, electronic health records, e-health applications and social media
  • Skills in the use of motivational interviewing, brief interventions and/or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills including the ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and other key stakeholders
  • Organisational and management skills of a high order including the ability to plan, budget, manage staff and evaluate funding program delivery
  • Highly developed advocacy and negotiation skills in order to represent Fortify Health Group in a professional and positive manner to government agencies and other external bodies
Other Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology
  • Ability to obtain registration with AHPRA
  • Possession of a driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (or ability to purchase or hire once you arrive in Australia)
  • A Paid Blue card or the ability to obtain one is essential
  • NDIS worker screening check or the ability to obtain one is essential
  • Rights to work in Australia
