To help achieve our vision, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Caseworker to join our Illawarra Permanency Support Team on a Permanent, Full-time basis.

As a Caseworker you will be a part of a team which works dynamically across the child protection spectrum, from family preservation, permanency support, restoration and adoption.

Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will be instrumental in encouraging safety, healing, and connection through healthy relationships. Supporting families, children and young people is core to our values.


As a Caseworker you will be a part of a team which works dynamically across the child protection spectrum, from family preservation, permanency support, restoration, and adoption.


As a Caseworker, you will be responsible for:


  • Case Management:

Provide support and ensure accountability of the families, carers or participants in order to achieve the desired outcome/results for the children o young people.

Service Delivery:

Ensure regular face to face contact with children and young people as per organisational guidelines.

Administration:

Maintain case files via client management system ensuring accuracy and timeliness of records.

We are looking for individuals who fulfil the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Diploma in Social Sciences / Social Welfare or equivalent or working towards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing vulnerable children and their families.
  • Sound interpersonal, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a high performing team.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective community networks.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity, Work Health and Safety, Cultural issues and the NSW Child Protection system.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Willing to undergo a National Police Clearance and obtain a (NSW) Working with Children Check clearance number and/or (ACT) Working with Vulnerable People Card.
