Your Opportunity

The Walawaani Residential Rehabilitation Service is located on 17 acres of bushland surrounded by stunning beaches and Nationals Parks.

Specialising in treating clients with co-morbid substance dependence and mental illness, the 10-bed program works with young people aged between 16 and 24 years. The treatment model is a 12-week holistic psychosocial rehabilitation program based on harm minimisation and health promotion. This 12-week program is followed up with 6 months community aftercare.

In this role, you will act as an appropriate role model to staff and students. Over the weekend, you will oversee the development and delivery of a range of quality sporting and recreational activities for young people. You will aim to increasing physical fitness, providing exposure to the benefits of healthy outdoor pursuits, teamwork and planning.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Oversee and support the progress of residents achieving their casework goals.- Develop and deliver a range of quality sport and recreation activities on/off site.- Mentor and support the development of Living Skills- Conduct and review client case plans, record keeping, reports and case notes.- Lead, supervise and support the Youth Workers to ensure the appropriate care.- Maintain acceptable standards of student conduct and professional boundaries.- Establish positive working relationships with young people and any stakeholders.- Manage mental health and emotional issues through high vigilance of changes.- Ensure the safe storage and distribution of student medications and keep records.

Requirements for Success:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or of proven experience in adolescent residential care and / or delivery of sport and recreational programs- Ability to lead, support and supervise staff.- Experience in conducting a range of outdoor recreational/psychical activities.- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in mental health and substance issues.- Ability to liaise with Clinicians in relation to the supply and administration of medications.- First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain.- Evidence of full Covid 19 Vaccination- Current NSW Driving Licence
