Are you a seasoned professional passionate about renewable energy? Our client, a leading global provider of sustainable energy solutions, is in search of a highly skilled Project Development Manager to join their team.

Our client leads the charge in the renewable energy revolution, dedicated to propelling the shift towards a sustainable future. With a presence in 40+ countries, they specialize in the development, construction, and operation of onshore wind farms, providing clean and dependable energy to millions worldwide.

As a Project Development Manager, you will hold a vital role in onshore wind farm projects' development in Australia. You will oversee all project development aspects, from site identification and feasibility assessments to acquiring permits and managing stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential sites for onshore wind farm projects, considering technical, environmental, and regulatory factors.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies, including wind resource assessment, environmental impact assessment, and grid connection studies.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with landowners, government bodies, local communities, and stakeholders to aid project development and secure necessary approvals.
  • Effectively manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams, such as engineers, environmental experts, legal advisors, and contractors, to execute project development tasks.
  • Prepare and submit permit applications, environmental impact assessments, and other regulatory documents compliant with Australian laws.
  • Negotiate land agreements, lease agreements, and power purchase agreements to secure project rights and off-take arrangements.
  • Monitor and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions when needed.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and stakeholders to stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.
  • Represent the company in public consultations, community gatherings, and industry events to support project objectives and foster positive relationships.
  • Create project development budgets, financial forecasts, and investment proposals aligned with company goals.
  • Provide regular progress updates and reports to senior management on project status, challenges, and key milestones.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project development experience, preferably in renewable energy.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering utility-scale wind generation assets in Australia.
  • In-depth knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements and permitting processes for renewable energy projects.
  • Proficient project management skills, including handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to recognize opportunities, anticipate challenges, and devise innovative solutions.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency with current working rights in Australia.
