A rare opportunity exists for an experienced, RPEQ registered, industry professional to step up or move across and lead WSP's Queensland Fire Engineering team.
This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's Property & Buildings specialist Fire Division.You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities.
Based in our Brisbane office, the role presents the opportunity to lead an established team of highly skilled engineers and contribute towards the success of our national fire engineering team.
We are seeking a highly motivated market leader who understands the unique challenges of the QLD property market and wishes to work on the best projects with the best clients at Australia's leading Tier 1 Consultancy.
This exciting role will see you developing new business, foster valued client relationships, manage project performance andpromote or culture of technical and professional excellence, all within our supportive team environment.

The opportunityWe are a collaborative and inclusive National Fire Engineering team housed within our 900+ person Property and Buildings group.

This role offers the opportunity to;Contribute to the development of our business against strategic goals;Communicate and manage relationships with internal & external stakeholdersLead the developed fire strategies through to the implementation of bespoke solutions;Lead local, national and international projects of significance.
Utilise code consultancy, risk assessment and fire, smoke & egress modelling consultancy skills;Train, mentor and supervise our emerging professionals throughout their development;Act as a role model who people choose to follow based upon your behaviours within our diverse and inclusive workplace.
Maintain and manage strong client relationships and identifying key business development opportunitiesWork across our multidisciplinary specialist and building services teams.
Work within our University Partnership Programs which seek to address industry challenges and inform emerging technologies.Develop technical papers and speak at industry events.
What we'll love about youBachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Science or equivalent industry experiencePossess RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland)Graduate Diploma or Masters in Fire Safety Engineering (desirable);Extensive relevant consulting experience on building fire safety engineering projects;Experience across a range of sectors including medium-to-large scale projects and highly complex facilities such as airports, casinos and the like.
Capable of supporting the technical requirements of code consultancy, risk assessments and fire, smoke & egress modelling.Capacity to support clients and liaise with local authorities/fire brigade, surveyors, multidisciplinary consultants and other stakeholders to efficiently deliver projectsCapacity to train and mentor engineers in both the technical and industry-based forums and;Your willingness to share technical knowledge and lessons learnt whilst fostering a culture of development and growth within your team.
