The WHS Co-Ordinator collaborates with Distribution and Primary Processing to offer practical WHS guidance and mentoring to create and nurture a safety-oriented culture. The role entails contributing to the execution of our Work Health and Safety Management System to achieve risk mitigation strategies, establish proactive training initiatives, and support Worker's Compensation and Return to Work functions. Working closely with team members, the role aims to reduce/manage risks, prevent injuries, and drive continual enhancement.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all functional teams throughout Ingham's vertically integrated supply chain to implement and sustain health and safety and environmental systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and legal requirements by working with Distribution and Primary Processing teams.
  • Assist the business in internal and external audits.
  • Regularly evaluate the working environment for injury prevention by promoting a culture of ongoing improvement among employees.
  • Investigate incidents and workplace accidents.
  • Generate reports and KPI data to empower managers to make informed decisions for the business.
  • Provide training on Ingham's WHS practices and safety for life program to staff.
  • Maintain documentation and files to adhere to internal and legal standards.

We are seeking individuals who can offer:

  • A passion for steering continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and dependability.
  • Experience in operating in a high-risk setting and fostering a safety-centric culture.
  • Ability to navigate across multiple sites with diverse regulations and obstacles.
  • Excellent communication and problems solving skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively across functions to cultivate strong relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the proficiency to work with various data sets and refine them into relevant, meaningful information for staff comprehension.
  • Capability to work independently and execute tasks autonomously without constant guidance.
  • Experience in a self-insured setting, preferably within a similar environment, understanding the importance of adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Holder of a Cert IV in a WHS-related field.
