DRA Brisbane is actively seeking expressions of interest from Senior and Lead Mechanical Designers eager to join our solid team of Designers to lead upcoming projects across various commodities worldwide, from conceptual studies to detailed design.Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Designer at DRA, your primary focus will be on delivering project requirements promptly and professionally, aligning with company, client, and project standards, including but not limited to;
  • Creating models and detailed technical drawings following set standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducting design reviews and coordinating interdisciplinary teams.
  • Utilizing your expertise and initiative to propose practical layout solutions and designs, ensuring project timelines and budgets are met - supervising design effectiveness, work scheduling, resource needs, and ensuring alignment with project schedules and client expectations.
  • Engaging daily with Project Managers, Designers, Engineers, and clients.
  • Offering technical mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues.
  • Demonstrating a high level of personal safety and adherence to safe design practices.
Desired Profile
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in a similar mechanical designer role focused on mining and minerals projects.
  • Relevant Diploma or Associate Degree – Highly beneficial.
  • Proficient in MicroStation design software.
  • Familiarity with pertinent Australian and industry regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated focus on deliverables and strong planning abilities.
  • Creative thinker capable of autonomous work within deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and eagerness for learning.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
