Job Summary:

Seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer, responsible for planning, developing, and ensuring the quality of mechanical design work, creating 3D models, drawings, and project documentation, as well as estimating quantities. This role offers flexibility to be based in either the Perth or Brisbane Bechtel office.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Execute design tasks within a compact Mechanical design team for medium-sized projects or assignments supporting a global business unit
  • Produce drawings and documentation adhering to established mechanical design standards
  • Collaborate with Mechanical engineers, interdisciplinary designers, and drafters in day-to-day technical work as directed
  • Deliver high-quality outputs within project budget and schedule constraints

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading and reproducing drawings within the discipline
  • Experience in multi-discipline interface management and overseeing global 3D models
  • Ability to interpret and utilize documents and drawings from other project groups effectively
  • Familiarity with engineering and construction materials relevant to design responsibilities
  • Completion of specialist courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices
  • Extensive experience in design and drafting, demonstrating senior-level expertise within a team
