How will I help?


As the Head of Financial Crime, you will be responsible for driving and overseeing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime Management (FCM) programs for the Consumer and Business Banking Division.


You will lead a team of First Line professionals and partner with Second Line Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) and frontline teams across the Group.

You will interact with other Divisions to ensure there is consistent and sustainable uplift of Financial Crime capability, processes and controls.


You will lead actions to achieve the desired risk culture for the Consumer and Business Banking Division including specific capability development.

The role reports directly to the General Manager, Business Controls and Monitoring.

Accountabilities for this role include:

  • Appropriate management of current and emerging Financial Crime risks, compliance and regulatory obligations within Board approved risk frameworks and appetite;
  • Provide leadership in the identification and assessment of financial crime control performance and gaps across the Division, determination of root causes and development of divisionwide actions to ensure compliance;
  • Provide expert input to major projects executing regulatory requirements;
  • Authoring periodic updates to Divisional and Group level Risk Committees;
  • Oversight of the highrisk customer population including complex investigations and targeted reviews; and
  • Customer decision management

What do I need?
To be successful in the role you will need to have:

years specific Financial Crime experience

  • Significant work experience in large complex organisations including experience as a risk professional
  • Experience managing multiple and competing stakeholder interests in a complex financial services institution
  • Track record of delivering risk transformation and compliance initiatives in a complex regulatory environment
  • Strong people leadership capability
  • Excellent communication written an oral
  • Strong business acumen
  • Outstanding planning and organisational skills
  • High standard of professionalism and integrity
