We have an opening for an Academic Services Officer to join our team at UWA College.

This is the University of Western Australia's new pathway college, designed to prepare international students for success at UWA, students benefit from a tailored learning experience across a range of Foundation and Diploma programs, providing the ideal preparation and a packaged pathway to continue their studies at UWA.


As the Academic Services Officer, you will be a key member of the UWA College student and academic services team, providing student and academic administration services for all UWA College staff and students, ensuring that the duties are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.


You will use your excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders both within UWA College and across the broader UWA and INTO network.


Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the maintenance of a student focussed and welcoming UWA College environment through participation in events and engagement with the student cohort
  • Effective development, maintenance and management of student record systems and procedures, including, exams, timetabling, progression and results
  • Management of data and information as required by the Academic Services Manager
  • Support the delivery of Orientation and the enrolment of UWA College students
  • Delivery of effective Academic administration
  • Support the functions and processes associated with the delivery, monitoring and assessment of academic programmes to the required quality standards; provide front line support to Academic teaching staff in doing so
  • Be familiar with the duties of other Academic and Students Services roles in order to provide cover for their duties as agreed with the Academic Services Manager
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with INTO Staff, University Partners and other stakeholders on a wide range of academic support matters
  • Assist with the induction of staff on Academic Services procedures and systems including setting up accounts on relevant systems
  • Support and suggest continuous improvements to systems and processes, including, where appropriate, provision of relevant training for staff
  • Contribute to the development of a collaborative working environment to maintain and enhance the quality of the student learning experience and the working conditions of College staff
  • Demonstrate professional levels of engagement and service to students and staff at all time

About you

  • Strong administrative skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of administration in a fastpaced changing environment
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to communicate with, build and manage relationships with peers, senior managers, academic stakeholders, parents and students from a range of linguistic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and ensure that the message is understood
  • Excellent IT skills with proving in depth knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to collate and analyse data
  • Consistently displays a positive approach to the working environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake and learn new tasks
  • Good analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Committed and responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young adults
