About the role
The ICT Program Manager at Lifeblood will manage a virtual team of professional Project Managers, Business Analysts and Solution Architects to deliver a range of technology projects. These projects range in size from small initiatives to large and complex projects. The role ensures that ICT delivered services support and enable the efficient, sufficient, and timely production and distribution of safe blood and blood products within a service excellence culture.

The Program Manager is ultimately responsible for successful project outcomes for operational and strategic projects within their remit. As well as ensuring their team delivers projects within budget and to agreed timelines and quality requirements, the role must mitigate program and project level risks, issues, and dependencies, and negotiate with ICT and business stakeholders to coordinate resources.

The role has direct line management responsibility for a team of Project Managers and dotted-line management of a team of Business Analysts and Architects. Responsibilities include development and coaching of team members as well as being an escalation point for risk and issue resolution as required.

  • A degree qualification in Project Management or equivalent with PMP accreditation.
  • 10+ years' experience with proven track record of delivering large and complex IT projects in a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team of project managers, as well as leading and managing project teams or resources.
  • Experience with the full project life cycle and formal delivery methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Experience with planning a program of work to ensure resources are available to deliver on customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in team development, coaching and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated experience utilising the ITIL framework.
  • Proven experience in project estimation and business case preparation.
  • Understanding of key project goals, implementation strategies, plans and delivery schedules.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Lean, Six Sigma) essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop and maintain constructive work relationships at all levels within ICT and across business staff and external suppliers.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a hybrid working environment. While we would prefer a Melbourne based candidate, we may be open to candidates from other locations within Australia.
