About the role
This is an influential management position within our busy and progressive Development and Traffic Services unit.
You will be responsible for the management of a well-resourced team of dedicated technical specialists, including catchment and development engineers, landscape and tree management officers and heritage officer.
You will be part of a professional and supportive team environment and able to enjoy flexible work arrangements offered by Council.
On a daily basis you will:
- contribute to strategic direction setting and decision-making
- manage team performance to meet KPIs
- work collegiately with a wide range of external and internal customers and stakeholders
- be a leader in workplace engagement and culture
- represent Council across a range of relevant forums be a leader in continuous improvement and the professional development of staff

About You
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications (degree or associate diploma) in civil engineering with a focus on catchment management
- Current Motor Vehicle licence
- Extensive relevant experience in team management and development related engineering assessment and/or design
- Registered as an Engineer with Engineers Australia or eligibility for registration
- High level of communication (oral and written); negotiation and conflict resolution skills (includes problem solving); innovation and people management skills High level customer service, case management skills and demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
What's on offer
We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $162,483 to $180,134 plus 11% superannuation.
Participation in Council's Motor Vehicle Scheme will be discussed with the successful applicant.
