About the role

The purpose of this role is to be the primary point of contact for the office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer (CNMO) and Nursing and Midwifery MNH, providing high quality, effective, efficient professional and confidential senior executive support to the CNMO and to oversee the support to the Nursing and Midwifery Services Directors of Nursing and advice to each.

This position will manage and coordinate the daily function of the CNMO and ONMS to deliver client focused executive management and achieve a high level of performance in a demanding executive environment.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage the office of a senior executive in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, or the ability to acquire knowledge, of HR policies, employment awards, delegations (financial and nonfinancial) and corporate procedures/processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complaint handling processes and of ethical and professional practice standards, with an ability to operate effectively in a high volume, sensitive and complex work environment.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, liaison and communication skills including the capacity and ability to negotiate or communicate on behalf of the agency with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven excellent written communication skills, including ability to prepare documents and briefing notes for the Minister or senior executives on complex and sensitive case issues.
