About this particular team at AC3

The Corporate Technology Services Business Unit helps the business with all their technology and Internal IT needs, including Business Engagement & Insights, Policy & Architecture, Planning & Delivery, Operations & Optimisation, Technology Governance, and IT Transformation. When we say our purpose is "to make technology real", it's our CTS team who enable AC3 to realise tangible business outcomes from technology.

About the role

This role works closely with all areas of the business to ensure that our technology is fit for purposes and our business needs are being met. You will be integral to internal projects contributing and/or owning plan, design, develop, deploy, test, optimise, and documentation of infrastructure and systems in a project landscape. The role also carries a small Enterprise Architecture component of 15-20%.

During the "design & build" stages, you will work closely with technical and non-technical teams, and our Project Managers, to bring solutions to life and transition projects to Operational Services and/or customer support teams.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance across cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable technology outcomes.
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice, i.e. evaluation and assessment, for our Technology and Product selection including running evaluations and proofs of concepts.
  • Engage with project teams, including internal stakeholders, to produce architectural solutions and detailed design documentation relevant to AC3 business requirements and best practices.
  • Provide expertise and recommendations to improve existing designs/implementations.
  • Implement infrastructure, systems, and application solutions and services for AC3.
  • Participate in the deployment of complex solutions in line with quality, scope, and time constraints.
  • Prepare as-built documentation & handover documentation needed for transition into ongoing support.
  • Become a "trusted advisor" for our various internal business units.
  • Engage with AC3 stakeholders to solve their business challenges using technology solutions.
  • Take ownership to proactively identify and resolve technical project delivery issues.
  • Develop and maintain a strong focus on internal customer satisfaction and how that can impact delivery to external customers.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential impact on our IT environment

Skills & experience

  • 8+ years' experience in systems or infrastructure engineering related roles, or comparable demonstrated level of expertise.
  • Experience working in third level roles as an SME for infrastructure and PaaS/SaaS related issues.
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms Azure or AWS.
  • Proven experience in a Solution Architect/Engineering capacity.
  • Proven experience in contributing to, and executing, complex project deployments and migrations.
  • Experience working in an ITIL-centric delivery organisation.
  • Working knowledge of a range of ICT systems including Private and Public Cloud, Linux/Unix, SQL, Middleware, Firewall, Networks, Wintel, Storage and how they inter-relate.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principals and the ISO 27001 Framework.
  • Ability to network, negotiate and influence stakeholders across business and IT domains to collaboratively achieve desired outcomes.
  • MS Power platform, especially PowerBI, experience.
