About this Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical, this role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, installation and repair of machinery and equipment including preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, performing repairs to minimise downtime and maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Perform installations, repairs and maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including logs of repairs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment overall performance, this includes providing feedback and implementing improvements to procedures.
  • Work closely with production staff to minimise disruptions and downtime.

About You

To succeed in this role the following knowledge and skills are required:

  • A Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent;
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
  • Experience with welding using Oxy, Tig and Mig.
  • Experience with machining, and fabricating parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
