Job Description

  • Perform preventative maintenance of plant and equipment following manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Plan, schedule, and organise work within the requirements of the work plan.
  • Complete tasks safely and in accordance with quality requirements and company policies.
  • Initiate and complete work orders, ensuring timely sign-off and feedback.
  • Provide immediate responses to emergency work orders and troubleshooting expertise as needed.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and demonstrate commitment to the Zero Harm safety philosophy.
  • Develop and maintain positive work relationships within the team and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Supervise apprentices as required and support their training and development.

Provide daily feedback and reports to the Supervisor on progress and completed work

As a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, your primary objective will be the preventative maintenance of plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations and manuals. Your focus will be on maintaining safety, quality, and maximising production. You will also be responsible for resolving operational or technical equipment problems to minimise processing interruptions due to equipment breakdowns or failures.

The Successful Applicant

  • Trade certificate or equivalent for safe practice of Fitting/Turning
  • Knowledge and experience in safety procedures.
  • High Degree of Computer literacy.
  • Pneumatic-hydraulic training and ability to read schematics.
  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience in poultry processing or meat product processing industry.
  • Experience with installation, operation, service, fault finding, repair, and maintenance of various plant equipment.
  • Competent in basic oxy acetylene gas, MIG/TIG welding repairs with stainless steel.
  • Ability to develop Hazard Analysis and risk assessments.

What's on Offer

$95-105k + super + overtime
