About the Opportunity

The Family Reconciliation and Mediation Program (FRMP) is a state-wide initiative funded by the Victorian Government. It aims to enhance the capacity of youth homelessness and relevant service systems to assist young individuals aged 16-25 facing homelessness risks due to family issues. The Sector Capacity Building Worker plays a key role in planning, executing, and assessing innovative sector capacity building initiatives. Additionally, this role involves managing funds for therapeutic interventions and family mediation.

Essential

  • Relevant qualifications in human services, community development, or social work, or extensive community sector experience
  • Experience in networking and forming partnerships
  • Strong communication skills - interpersonal, verbal, and written, along with negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with sector capacity building processes and functions
  • Understanding of challenges faced by young individuals experiencing homelessness due to family breakdown
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting young people with complex needs and their families

Desirable

  • Project management experience
  • Hands-on experience within the youth homelessness service sector
