As a Human Resource Manager (known in the Navy as Maritime Human Resource Officer), you'll be responsible for improving the workforce and environment for Navy personnel. This role will see you performing a range of human resource functions involving welfare, policies, retention, development, recruitment, training, support, deployment and operations.

On a strategic level, there will be opportunities to contribute to workforce development, design and implementation, in order to develop and retain a highly skilled workforce.

While a large part of your career will be based ashore at a Navy or Defence base, you will also be required to provide your expertise onboard ships deployed on operations.

Your duties include, but aren't limited to:

Human resource and case management Information management Internal and external corporate communication Financial budgeting Reporting and governance tasks Recruitment of personnel Personnel policy development Welfare support Administrative investigations Career management Leading and managing a team of Personnel Administration Specialists

As an officer, you'll learn additional skills and duties to become highly trained and efficient in supporting the security and safety of the ship and personnel onboard. This involves providing leadership, management, administration and career advice to sailors and junior officers within your division.
