Wildlife Field Operative

This role is field orientated and will involve assisting the Central Queensland Wildlife team in delivering projects including:

  • threatened species surveys and monitoring
- flying-fox management and monitoring
- bird management and monitoring
- pest animal management and monitoring
- fauna spotter catching and wildlife relocation services.

About You:

Required Skills:

- construction industry white card
- ability to work remotely and autonomously in physically challenging environments
- the ability to communicate clearly within a diverse range of work environments
- a willingness to travel and be away from home for short periods.

The following skills and attributes would be highly regarded:

  • open manual driver's licence
- four-wheel driving experience/certification
- current first aid certificate
- venomous snake handling certificate
- working safely at heights certificate
- chainsaw accreditation
- pre-clearance survey / threatened species experience
- spotter catcher and/or wildlife handling experience
- demonstrated fauna identification and habitat assessment skills
- experience working on construction projects.


In addition to the above, this position may require assisting Ecosure's other disciplines including Ecology and Environmental Management and Ecological Restoration.


This position serves as a promising entry point into the environmental industry for those who are passionate about the wildlife and want to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience from experts.
