The Position:

This opportunity is for an Unaccredited registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for an August 2024 intake. Join a team of 10 Resident Medical Officers and 10 Registrars. Variety of experience in all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

Contributing to the delivery of high-quality Obstetrics and Gynaecology care.

Managing patients in collaboration with Consultants, GP Obstetricians, Midwives, Nurses, and Allied Health professionals, you will participate in a range of clinics.


  • This position reports to the Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Under the supervision of the relevant consultants, initiate, maintain, and be responsible for the clinical care of patients.
  • Conduct day to day review of patients.
  • Ensure comprehensive, accurate. and concise medical records are maintained for patients.
  • Contribute to quality patient care by participation in case planning which includes appropriate preadmission planning, inhospital care, and discharge planning.
  • Maintain good communications with all areas and disciplines within the health service and with local medical practitioners to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the hospital.

Eligibility:

  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
  • Proof of vaccination status (includes but is not limited to COVID19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).
  • Current registration or suitable for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Highly developed and up to date clinical and theoretical knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people at all levels and work collaborative with a diverse team.
  • Experience in O&G

The Hospital:

Our client is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Their services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care.


The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening of their new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.
