Opportunity for Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar to join Mercy Hospital for Women commencing October 2024

ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Full time 12 months fixed term contract 1 October September 2025 (approximately)
  • Suitable for an applicant who is undertaking a RANZCOG endorsed training position
  • This is an Obstetric training position with other duties as required as part of O&G registrar position
  • Based at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg
  • Provide care for inpatients and patients in outpatients and the Emergency Department within the rules pertaining to Registrars/Residents
  • Responsible for the completion of discharge summaries and coding
  • Employment terms as per the Australian Medical Association (Victoria) Hospital Medical Officer Certified Agreement
  • Salary is in line with the Enterprise Agreement and will be based on your years of experience

ABOUT YOU:

  • Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • RANZCOG endorsed training position
  • Clinical experience and competence in the practice of Obstetrics and Gynaecology as for level 4 RANZCOG ITP registrar or above
  • Successful completion of 3 or more years of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Registrar level
  • Highly developed and up to date clinical and theoretical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with people at all levels and work collaboratively with a diverse team

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Specialist Teaching Hospital in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Neonatology, Anaesthetics and Gynaecological Oncology.

We have 229 inpatient beds and over 5,500 babies are born at the hospital each year. Mercy Hospital for Women has one of only four Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Metropolitan Melbourne.

We are a specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to treat the most complex Obstetric, Neonatal and Gynaecological cases.
