Your new role:


The Tool Store Operator is responsible for the delivery of the all services that sit within the Operator Trade Group role including any high risk license tasks providing services across the shipyard to successfully deliver the project.

The role will require you to support all production work on blocks, ships and support other tasks as required in relation to the shipyard.


As a Tool Store Operator you will:

  • Ensure that services delivered are in accordance with the Manufacturing Plan.
  • Daily interaction with the production team
  • Ensuring that you only perform the tasks you are suitable qualified and experienced in and have been deemed competent to perform including high risk license tasks
  • In conjunction with the Manager ensure all equipment used by you or members of the operator / production team are properly certified/ calibrated and has been appropriately tested, inspected as required
  • Ensure that all equipment and areas used by the team are maintained in a safe and organised manner
  • Report any maintenance, and Toolstore housekeeping as required using BAE systems
  • Responsible for your own safety and including the safety of fellow workers and have involvements in the team's safety and quality requirements and working to meet or exceed results
  • Add value to and assist in creating a positive working environment
  • Undertake Training in accordance with role as deemed necessary
  • Issuing of Tooling and Consumables to the production work force
  • Oversee stock levels of Tooling and Consumables and report needs as required
  • Ensure that quality and technical standards are met or exceeded
About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Hold and maintain the appropriate licensing for the equipment used and tasks performed within the shipyard
  • Demonstrated experience, management of all aspects of your role and responsibility for your performance
  • Excellent communication, influencing and skills
  • Strong safety focus and enhancing the site safety environment
  • Strong time keeping abilities
  • Basic Computer skills including Microsoft office is desirable
  • Support Shift work as required
  • Follow and work to the E.B. Agreement
  • Experience within a Defence or Naval or Ship Building environments
  • Australian Defence Security clearance highly desirable
Clearances

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.


International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
