The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for anexperienced senior lawyer to join our highly successful InsuranceDivision on a full-time basis. Based in Brisbane, the successfulcandidate will enjoy working on high value matters for premiuminsurer clients in a team that is recognised within the industry fordelivering high quality advice and outstanding service to clientsacross a diverse range of sectors including:

  • Public liability - Personal Injury & Property
  • Product liability
  • Indemnity
  • CTP; and
  • Catastrophic claims.

The key purpose in this role will be tooffer a broad range of personal injury and general insuranceservices to a wide network of clients. You will be required to havea demonstrated and sound knowledge of the industry, with the abilityto run matters through to completion. And, as a senior member of theteam, you will be experienced in, and comfortable leading andmentoring junior lawyers.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and acurrent Queensland practising certificate
  • Minimum 6 years' post admission experiencein general insurance matters, including liability claims
  • Experience in personal injury proceedings in Queensland
  • A passion for and experience in mentoringand supervising junior lawyers
  • Ability to communicate effectively withexperts in multiple fields
  • High degree of initiative, dedication andorganisation ability with a strong client and commercial focus
  • A commercial approach and ability toarticulate and negotiate effectively; and
